What does my daughter wear to camp?
Dress in clothes that are comfortable as they will be active and involved in arts and crafts. Wear comfortable sneakers; we will be practicing inside the gym. Please wear shorts under dresses.
What does my daughter wear to the performances with the Varsity Team?
You have several options! Your daughter may wear the camp T-shirt with comfortable shorts, a youth cheerleader outfit (see question below), or dress in her best red/white/blue attire! The youth cheerleader uniforms are not a requirement.
Where can I purchase a Youth Cheerleader uniform?
You can purchase a mini cheer uniform online if you did not purchase one through us in the spring. Please click the top right menu button and select"order mini cheer uniforms". They may not arrive in time for mini cheer photos, but they will most likely be here in time for our other performances.
Where can I purchase the red bloomers for my daughter to wear under her uniform?
Any dance shop should have red bloomers/spandex shorts in the size that your daughter needs. Locally, Dance Expressions (Kinston) carry them. Amazon also has them.
How can my daughter practice what she learned at camp at home? We will upload an unlisted video on YouTube and share that with all of the families via email after camp and also it will be uploaded here on our site. *For any other questions, please send an email to srouse@parrottacademy.org
Will snacks be provided?
Unfortunately due to allergies and safety, campers must pack and bring their own snacks. Please ensure snack bags are labeled with a first and last name, and a contact phone number is preferred in case of it becoming lost. The snack bags will be placed in bins organized by grade level. Please notify Samantha Rouse if your child has an allergy.
Will my child need sunscreen and bug spray?
No, our camp is held inside the gym and the gym lobby. We require campers to wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
What if I want my camper to bring a change clothes for emergencies or for after the photo?
You are welcome to send a change of clothing if your child's picture outfit is not the same as her practice clothes. Please label any additional clothing with the child's name in a bag. The Patriot Place shop will be at cheer camp, please stop by! They have dresses, skirts, and more. You can check out more on their Facebook page ‘Patriot Place’. Can all of my campers (siblings, cousins, etc.) be in the photo with the mascot together?
Yes! Please make sure to notify Samantha Rouse on the FIRST DAY OF CAMP stating the first and last name of everyone you would like to be in the photo. Additional photos can be purchased through Staci Basden (printable forms are located at the top of the main page).
When do we get the T-shirt? If you registered prior to August, you are guaranteed a T-shirt in the goodie bag at camp that they will take home on the last day (including all of their crafts and some extra goodies). If you registered after, you will have a T-shirt coming, but it may not arrive in time for camp. If it is not ready by camp, it will be delivered to your child's teacher to distribute.
